Softball Recap: Lewis Cass Drops Season-High Score on Eastern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lewis Cass). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-18 win over the Eastern Comets on Friday. For the Kings, this counts as revenge for the 13-7 victory the Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Ava Hubner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Lynch, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lewis Cass kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lewis Cass' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Eastern, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis Cass will venture away from home to challenge Maconaquah at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Kings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
