The Brookwood Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Hillsboro Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Brookwood made easy work of Wonewoc-Center and carried off a 17-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Mallory Wallace made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Wallace was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Cunitz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Payge Clark also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Brookwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hillsboro not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6th (when they won 19-1). They put the hurt on Royall with a sharp 15-2 win. The Tigers have beaten the Panthers the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Halle Hora spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.

On the hitting side, Madisyn Herritz and Michelyn Hansen did most of the damage at the plate: Herritz went 4-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Hansen got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Hansen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harper Sullivan, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Brookwood now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Hillsboro, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Everything went Brookwood's way against Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in April, as Brookwood made off with a 13-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
