Volleyball Recap: Moscow Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Moscow and Deerfield meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Moscow sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.

Moscow's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-12-2. As for Deerfield, they moved to 4-18 with that win, which also ended their 11-match losing streak.

Moscow has already played their next contest, a 0-0 tie against Rolla on the 6th. Hopefully Deerfield paid attention to the Wildcats' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wildcats on Tuesday.
