League recap: Indian Rocks Christian extends winning streak with victory over Calvary Christian

2A District 5 recap November 13, 2013

Indian Rocks Christian added to the longest winning streak in 2A District 5 this week by beating Calvary Christian, 34-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Keswick Christian's dynamic duo of Parker Holland and Josh Joy proved to be unstoppable against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Holland threw for 85 yards and Joy had 48 yards receiving. TJ Muscarella helped Keswick Christian's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 27 yards.

Damian King provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Indian Rocks Christian defeated the Warriors. He completed 3 passes for 70 yards and also ran for 130 yards.

Willie Parker of the Carrollwood Day is just 48 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Parker has rushed for 952 yards on 104 carries so far this year.

Entering into this week's contest against the Lions, Taylor King is short just 42 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, King has thrown for 1,958 yards with 18 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Cambridge Christian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Out-of-Door Academy.
