Basketball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. Crestview Cougars

Mapleton hasn't had much luck against Crestview recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mapleton Mounties will take on the Crestview Cougars in a holiday battle at at 5:30 a.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Mapleton earned a 52-45 win over Plymouth.

Meanwhile, Crestview put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by New London to the tune of 72-35. That looming 72-35 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Crestview's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Mapleton, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Mapleton came up short against Crestview in their previous meeting back in February, falling 55-44. Can Mapleton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
