Preview: Leavenworth vs. Lansing
On Friday Leavenworth take on Lansing at 7:00 PM. The team will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Leavenworth have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Turner 83-21. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 76-21.
Meanwhile, we expected Lansing to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked De Soto, and they did. Lansing ended up on the wrong side of a painful 7-34 walloping at De Soto's hands. Lansing were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-21.
Leavenworth's win lifted them to 1-3 while Lansing's defeat dropped them down to 1-3. In their victory, Leavenworth relied heavily on junior Jahawn Byrd, who rushed for 353 yards and 6 touchdowns. Lansing will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
