Basketball Recap: Rapides Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from MC Harris and Zayveian Johnson

Rapides played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 61-41 to the Westminster Academy Crusaders. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.

Zayveian Johnson and MC Harris certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Johnson posted 17 points along with three steals and three blocks, while Harris had eight points and four steals. That was a full 41.5% of Rapides' points, marking the sixth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Rapides dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Westminster Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.

Rapides will welcome Basile at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against North Vermilion at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
