Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft lost against Saint Viator back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Taft Eagles lost 58-38 to the Saint Viator Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Lions are ranked 96th).

Taft's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Saint Viator, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Taft will be playing in front of their home fans against Niles West on February 21st. As for Saint Viator, they will venture away from home to take on St. Patrick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
