Basketball Game Preview: Providence Christian Academy LIONS vs. Goodpasture Christian Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the LIONS challenge the Cougars at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Providence Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Saturday, Providence Christian Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Grace Christian Academy 92-47. The LIONS have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Goodpasture Christian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took down the Lions 82-64. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three games in a row.

Goodpasture Christian pushed their record up to 31-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points over those games. As for Providence Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 28-2.
