Softball Recap: Harbor Creek Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Harbor Creek was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell 5-2 to the McDowell Trojans. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Addison Lucas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brooke Przybylski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Harbor Creek's defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-4. As for McDowell, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Harbor Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe Erie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, McDowell will take on rival Fort LeBoeuf at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 0.8, the Bison 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
