Baseball Recap: Lansing Catholic Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

St. Francis typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Lansing Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gladiators, sneaking past 4-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Lansing Catholic pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for St. Francis, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5-1.

Lansing Catholic and St. Francis should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Cougars will square off against Ionia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (7 vs. 121). Meanwhile, St. Francis (ranked 40th) will meet Alpena (ranked 180th) on Friday.
