After a string of five wins, Adrian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish by a score of 5-4. The Maples were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2015.

Abram Marlatt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Tyler Bruggeman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Adrian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-2 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Joelden Griffin, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Adrian's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Gabriel Richard, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-24.

Looking ahead, Adrian will head out to square off against Dundee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gabriel Richard, they will face off against Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
