Basketball Game Preview: Somerset Briar Jumpers vs. Clay County Tigers

The Somerset Briar Jumpers will head out to challenge the Clay County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset has now lost 13 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

On Saturday, Somerset lost to McCreary Central on the road by a 47-32 margin.

Meanwhile, Clay County hadn't done well against Harlan County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Clay County came out on top against Harlan County by a score of 55-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Somerset's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Clay County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10-1.

Everything went Somerset's way against Clay County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Somerset made off with a 60-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Somerset since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
