Softball Game Preview: Rudyard Bulldogs vs. St. Ignace Saints

Rudyard is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will take on the St. Ignace Saints at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Rudyard came up short against Johannesburg-Lewiston on Saturday, falling 18-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, St. Ignace had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 9-5 to Boyne Falls on Thursday.

Cadence Cullen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Rudyard took their win against St. Ignace in their previous matchup back in May of 2017 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
