Baseball Recap: Hayward Farmers vs. San Leandro Pirates
Hayward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Leandro Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on Wednesday.
Hayward saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Duran, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Hayward's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for San Leandro, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Looking ahead, Hayward will challenge San Lorenzo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Farmers are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for San Leandro, they will square off against Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 2.9, the Broncos 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
