Softball Recap: Daphne's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Daphne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Arlington Tigers as they made off with an 11-0 win. Considering the Trojans have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Victoria Moten made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moten was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other pitching news, Amelia Gruber looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby J Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Senese, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Daphne's record is now 9-2. As for Arlington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5-1.

Daphne has already played their next match (against Battle Ground Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Arlington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dyer County at 6:30 p.m. on March 24th.
