Basketball Game Preview: Mira Monte Lions vs. South Spartans

The Mira Monte Lions will face off against the South Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Mira Monte turned things around against Golden Valley on Wednesday. They blew past the Bulldogs 65-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted since January 10th.

Meanwhile, South won against West last Thursday with 80 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. South simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Bakersfield 80-29. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

The victory (which was South's third in a row) raised their record to 14-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points per game. As for Mira Monte, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14.
