Football Game Preview: Tennyson Lancers vs. Castro Valley Trojans + Official Tickets

Tennyson and Castro Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tennyson is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Tennyson came up short against James Logan on Friday, falling 37-13. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 581st, while the Colts are ranked 286th).

Despite the loss, Tennyson got top-tier performance from Montrell Rice-Tuigamala, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Rice-Tuigamala also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Even if they lost, Tennyson's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was James Walker Jr. with two. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Castro Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Berkeley on Friday, sneaking past 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since September 20, 2024.

Tennyson now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Castro Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Tennyson might still be hurting after the 34-14 defeat they got from Castro Valley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
