Basketball Recap: Cholla Comes Up Short

Cholla played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Rio Rico Hawks 54-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Tatianna Arellano had a dynamite gamefor Rio Rico, putting up 13 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Those six steals gave Arellano a new career-high. Addison Hix was another key player, going 6-for-13 en route to 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Cholla's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Rio Rico, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

Looking ahead, Cholla will be playing at home against Safford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Rico, they will head out to square off against Amphitheater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
