Baseball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado lost against Midland back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Coronado Thunderbirds fell 4-1 to the Midland Bulldogs. The contest marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Coronado got a good showing from Julian Almanzan, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Midland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Coronado will challenge Lubbock at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Coronado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Midland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monterey at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
