Football Game Preview: Ironwood Eagles vs. Goldwater Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Ironwood Eagles will take on the Goldwater Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ironwood is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They took a blow against McClintock, falling 66-12.

Despite the defeat, Ironwood had strong showings from Ramsey Pyne, who gained 46 total yards and two touchdowns, and Gianni Garcia, who rushed for 137 yards. Garcia showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards.

Meanwhile, Goldwater played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 52-3 loss at the hands of Sunnyslope. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Goldwater's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ironwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Ironwood has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 248.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Goldwater struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 203.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Ironwood suffered a grim 44-21 defeat to Goldwater in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Eagles, Dylan Hayhurst (who rushed for 333 yards and four scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
