Judson Gilliland had a dynamite game for Bethany, rushing for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Another signal caller making a difference was Jackson Payne, who threw for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Bethany's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Chase Clanton was especially locked on to Marshall's QB and sacked him twice.

Jones' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bethany, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.

Jones was able to grind out a solid victory over Bethany when the teams last played back in August of 2023, winning 26-14. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Gilliland, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 123 yards and a touchdown.
