Junction City picks up sixth straight win at home

Recap: Junction City Bluejays vs. Emporia Spartans

Even though the Junction City Bluejays have not done well against the Emporia Spartans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Junction City snuck past Emporia with a 46-41 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Junction City has scored all year.

Emporia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being River Peters, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Sheldon Stewart, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Junction City pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Emporia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City will take on Blue Valley Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Valley Northwest is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Emporia, they will be playing at home against Manhattan at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Manhattan and Emporia are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
