Basketball Recap: Kerr-Vance Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Henderson Collegiate

Kerr-Vance Academy had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 70-34 loss at the hands of the Henderson Collegiate Pride. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pride from their previous meeting back in November of 2018.

Despite the loss, Kerr-Vance Academy had strong showings from Will Stovall, who posted 11 points and five steals, and LJ Siplan, who earned 18 points and seven boards. Stovall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

The victory made it two in a row for Henderson Collegiate and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kerr-Vance Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Neuse Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Henderson Collegiate, they will take on Durham Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
