Basketball Recap: Cotter Comes Up Short

Cotter was the 69-56 winner over St. Charles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Cotter Ramblers took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Charles Fighting Saints on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Fighting Saints are ranked 57th).

Cotter's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for St. Charles, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Cotter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Triton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Charles, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
