Softball Recap: Baylor's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Baylor dropped their record down to 18-9-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Red Raiders were not able to get on the board.

As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, their win bumped their record up to 24-18-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 15, 2024, but that streak is no more.

For Tipton-Rosemark Academy's part, the result came thanks to Lanie Howe's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, Tipton-Rosemark Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anniston Glass, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Lola Sprenkle was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Baylor beat Tipton-Rosemark Academy by a score of 14-2 later that day.
