Volleyball Recap: Franklin Academy Takes a Loss

Franklin Academy lost against Research Triangle back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots came up short against the Raptors, falling 3-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Franklin Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Research Triangle's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16, 25-21.

Clara Clarke paced Franklin Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Clarke got some help from Emily Miller and her seven assists. Finally, Lily Pressley kept Franklin Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Kat Liquorie was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 18 digs and three assists.

Franklin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Research Triangle, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Franklin Academy has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Voyager Academy on the 16th. As for Research Triangle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Roxboro Community on the 16th.
