Baseball Recap: Lisbon Beats Oak Hill for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Lisbon entered their tilt with Oak Hill on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Raiders a 9-0 shutout. This was payback for the Greyhounds, who suffered an 11-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

JT Hoyle and Cody Osmond made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hoyle tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Osmond kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hoyle got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Osmond got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Hoyle has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Jacoby Tuplin and Brayden Decato did most of the damage at the plate: Tuplin got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Decato got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Lisbon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Oak Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
