Baseball Recap: McClave Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cheyenne Wells on Tuesday, McClave came back down to earth. The Cardinals came up short against the Holly Wildcats on Friday, falling 16-1. The matchup marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

McClave saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Solis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

McClave's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Holly, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat McClave by a score of 9-3 later that day.
