Basketball Game Preview: St. James Wildcats vs. Assumption Mustangs

The St. James Wildcats and the Assumption Mustangs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when St. James duked it out withTerrebonne on Thursday. St. James was beaten by Terrebonne 73-30. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Assumption was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting St. Charles Catholic an easy 50-26 win. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Assumption, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything came up roses for St. James against Assumption in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 450-31 victory. Will St. James repeat their success, or does Assumption have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
