Recap: Oviedo Lions vs. Seminole Seminoles

It was a good run, but the Oviedo Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Seminole by a score of 78-76. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

When it comes to explaining why Oviedo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Pennyfeather. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pennyfeather has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Harper, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.

Oviedo's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Seminole, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Oviedo will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Boone at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Boone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Seminole, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Central Florida Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Central Florida Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
