Softball Recap: Logan Comes Up Short

Logan extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 11-11 in the process. They came up short against the Davis Darts, falling 10-4. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by exactly six runs.

Kiki Laing and Rachel Porter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Laing went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Porter went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Davis, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-6. Considering they have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Davis' side, they got a massive performance out of Riley Jaques, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Jaques has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jewel Korth, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Logan will take on Syracuse in a tournament on Saturday. As for Davis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Farmington at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Darts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phoenix have averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season.
