Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Senior Tygers vs. Sandusky Blue Streaks

The Mansfield Senior Tygers will challenge the Sandusky Blue Streaks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mansfield Senior knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Sandusky likes a good challenge.

Mansfield Senior is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Norwalk: they outscored them in every quarter. Mansfield Senior put the hurt on Norwalk with a sharp 84-59 win on Thursday. Given the Tygers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Truckers are ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sandusky won against Ashland on Tuesday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Sandusky came out on top against Columbian by a score of 71-61. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Streaks in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won six in a row.

Mansfield Senior is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points over those games. Sandusky's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Mansfield Senior was able to grind out a solid victory over Sandusky in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 84-77. Does Mansfield Senior have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sandusky turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
