Baseball Recap: Lumberton's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Terry Sanford, Lumberton was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the East Columbus Gators a 17-0 shutout. With that victory, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Lumberton got a massive performance out of Brennan Griffin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Manny Alba, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
