Hampshire and McHenry are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Hampshire Whip-Purs will square off against the McHenry Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McHenry took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hampshire, who comes in off a win.

Hampshire is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 72-49 margin over Jacobs on Tuesday. The Whip-Purs pushed the score to 67-41 by the end of the third, a deficit the Golden Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, McHenry suffered their closest defeat since January 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Dundee-Crown by a score of 48-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Chargers are ranked 235th).

The victory made it two in a row for Hampshire and bumps their season record up to 11-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for McHenry, their loss dropped their record down to 22-5.

Things could have been worse for Hampshire, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-51 loss to McHenry in their previous meeting back in January. Can Hampshire avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
