Chapin and Burges are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Chapin took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Andress. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last eight times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Ozzie Marquez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Burges was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to El Paso. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Burges saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peter Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Chapin's record is now 11-15. As for Burges, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-2.
Chapin's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Huskies have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Burges, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chapin continue to outrun the ball?
Chapin beat Burges 11-7 in their previous matchup on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
