Volleyball Preview: Mcdowell and Mitchell Square Off

The McDowell Titans will challenge The Mitchell Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, it was close, but McDowell sidestepped Mountain Heritage for a 3-2 win.

McDowell wouldn't go down easily and took Mountain Heritage into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 0-25, 0-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Mitchell made easy work of Erwin on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Mitchell was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-7, 25-19, 25-16.

McDowell's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Mitchell, they have now won three of their last four games at home. That somehow still isn't as good as their 3-0 record this season.
