Baseball Recap: Noble Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Noble nor Massabesic made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Knights fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Noble saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carl Gregoire, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Gregoire's first of the season.

Noble now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Massabesic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Noble will square off against rival Sanford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.8, the Spartans 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Massabesic is set to challenge their familiar foe Gorham at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
