Volleyball Game Preview: Live Oak Acorns vs. Gilroy Mustangs

The Live Oak Acorns will head out on the road to challenge the Gilroy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Live Oak sitting on 15 straight wins and Gilroy on five.

On Monday, Live Oak got the win against Mt. Pleasant by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Gilroy made easy work of San Jose on Monday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

Live Oak pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Gilroy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.

Everything went Live Oak's way against Gilroy in their previous meeting back in April, as Live Oak made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Acorns since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
