Baseball Recap: North Moore Comes Up Short

North Moore had lost eight straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-14 to make it nine. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern Randolph Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-0 defeat last Friday.

As for Eastern Randolph, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

For Eastern Randolph's part, their win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chance Holdaway, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

North Moore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastern Randolph, they will square off against Uwharrie Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
