Basketball Recap: River View Wins Going Away Against Liberty

River View won the last time they faced Liberty and things went their way on Tuesday too. The River View Raiders blew past the Liberty Raiders 60-38. River View has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.

River View found their leader in sophomore Chasity Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for Kennedy. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Perkins, who posted five points along with 14 boards and four steals.

River View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Liberty's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Ava Yates was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 17 boards and five steals.

River View now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

River View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-56 loss against Greenbrier West on the 17th. Liberty has also already played their next match, a 47-32 defeat against Sherman on the 16th.
