Hancock Central had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.1 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They strolled past the Johnson County Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 71-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-54 back in January.

Hancock Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Ingram, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ingram a new career-high in shooting accuracy (88%). Another player making a difference was Dontriel Grable, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Johnson County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cory King, who went 6 for 14 en route to 13 points. Daezon Devero was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

Hancock Central pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for Johnson County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Hancock Central will square off against Johnson County at 4:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hancock Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Johnson County likes a good challenge. As for Johnson County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-49 defeat against Wilkinson County on the 7th.
