Baseball Recap: Valliant Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tishomingo on Monday, Valliant came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell 8-3 to the Wright City Lumberjax on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lumberjax apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ayden Fowler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Brody Dorries, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Valliant's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Wright City, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valliant will head out to face off against Rattan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wright City, they will venture away from home to square off against McAlester at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
