Baseball Game Preview: Maysville Panthers vs. West Muskingum Tornadoes

The Maysville Panthers will face off against the West Muskingum Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Maysville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Maysville lost 10-1 to Philo on Thursday. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Maysville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TREVOR HAGUE, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. SLADE SHREVE was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Muskingum, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past East Knox 9-8. With that win, the Tornadoes brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Preston Ferrell was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grady Dollings, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

West Muskingum now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Maysville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Maysville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Muskingum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
