Baseball Recap: Greenway Wins Going Away Against Shadow Mountain

Greenway barely beat Shadow Mountain the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Greenway put the hurt on Shadow Mountain with a sharp 10-0 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Demons in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now won four in a row.

Greenway let Tyler McNally and Caden Lord run wild. McNally scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Lord scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. McNally has become a key player for Greenway: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ben Tatum, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Greenway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Greenway's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Shadow Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8-1.

Greenway will have a chance to go back-to-back against Shadow Mountain: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
