Recap: Unicoi County Blue Devils vs. Tennessee Vikings
The Unicoi County Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 60-48 to Tennessee. While losing is never fun, Unicoi County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Tennessee is ranked 66th).
Tennessee was led to victory by Anna kate Kinch and Chase Wolfenbarger. Kinch dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Wolfenbarger scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Wilhoit, who scored 14 points.
Unicoi County has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Tennessee, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7.
Unicoi County will head out on the road to square off against Elizabethton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tennessee, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Abingdon at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th. Abingdon is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
