Softball Preview: Lawrence County Red Devils vs. Scottsboro Wildcats
The Lawrence County Red Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Scottsboro Wildcats at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lawrence County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Russellville get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won four matchups in a row.
McKinley McCaghren was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with six RBI and two doubles.
