The Boone Grove Wolves will challenge the Glenn Falcons at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Boone Grove is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
Boone Grove will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Hobart, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Wolves came out on top against the Brickies by a score of 8-4 on Thursday.
Tristan Wilson and Javy Carrera made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Wilson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Carrera struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Wilson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Wilson went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Carrera went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Seth Pitcock was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Boone Grove's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Davian Carrera was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Boone Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Glenn sidestepped Knox for a 3-2 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted against the Redskins since April 15, 2017.
Brendin Hodges spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaden Lang, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Boone Grove's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8.
Boone Grove's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Wolves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Glenn, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Boone Grove continue to outrun the ball?
Boone Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Glenn in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
