Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich barely beat Lakes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 18-6 victory on Thursday. Considering the Bears have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Lake Zurich, bringing their record up to 3-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich will challenge Warren Township at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakes, they will take on Glenbrook North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
