Baseball Recap: Oakwood Panthers vs. Slocum Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grapeland, Oakwood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Slocum Mustangs. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 11-2 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Dayden Velasquez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he gave up only seven walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
